We’re in the final stretch. Sprint 10 was all about real-world readiness – making sure Connect 3D behaves well across devices, complies with regulations and is ready to land in app stores.

Portrait, Landscape and Screen Sizes

Getting the game to look and feel great on every device wasn’t easy. I spent a good part of this sprint refining the layout and responsiveness across:

  • Android phones and tablets.
  • iPhones and iPads.
  • Portrait and landscape mode.

I updated margins, font sizes, and element placement throughout the app. The game should now feel natural and intuitive, no matter the screen or orientation. There are some phone and tablet models where screen ratio and weirdly placed notches still will be a bit problematic but the game is designed to be at least playable on those as well.

App Store Submissions

A major milestone this sprint was adding Connect 3D to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, ready for testing:

  • Test tracks set up on both platforms.
  • Internal testing already started with close contacts.
  • Store listings created with descriptions, icons and preview material.

It was a surreal moment seeing Connect 3D on the Play Store under “internal testing.” A small step for deployment, a giant leap for motivation!

GDPR, Privacy and Home Page

While the backend was already designed with security in mind, this sprint I took the time to brush up on GDPR and similar data regulations:

  • Wrote a Privacy Policy and a terms of use and added those to the web and to the game.
  • Created a simple home page for the game with legal links and contact info.
  • Verified that all user data flows (account creation, storage, chat, analytics) meet the necessary requirements.

This might not be the most glamorous work, but it’s critical for launching a product that respects its users.

Azure Optimization

Last but not least, I spent time fine-tuning the Azure infrastructure:

  • Adjusted autoscaling rules.
  • Set up cost alerts and performance monitors.
  • Optimized storage, bandwidth usage and database queries.

The goal here is simple: fast, reliable and cost-effective. I don’t want a surprise bill or lag spikes when real users start playing.

Next Sprint: Alpha Testing and Monetization Planning

In Sprint 11, it’s time to go live with a limited group of alpha testers. I want to gather feedback, fix any remaining bugs and get a feel for how the game performs in the wild.

I’ll also explore monetization strategies – both fair and sustainable. This includes looking at cosmetics, ads, or even optional premium features.

Let’s make Connect 3D truly ready for the world.
